"Some say the hill is enchanted, others say it is cursed. Both are right."
---Claire in Dragonfly in Amber
"It was near twilight, but the place glowed like a king’s treasure, reds and pinks and whites and yellows glimmering in an emerald jungle in the dusk, and the air flooded in upon him, moist and caressing, filled with the scents of flowers and leaves, herbs and vegetables. For an instant, he smelled his wife’s hair among them and gulped air as though he’d been shot in the lung.”
~~~ Jamie Fraser from The Scottish Prisoner, Outlander series of books by Diana Gabaldon
This lovely wide shawl has the colors of a Scottish sunset, perhaps Samhain's?
Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. Traditionally, it is celebrated from 31 October to 1 November, as the Celtic day began and ended at sunset. This is about halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals as well as the time in which time travelers in the Outlander series of books could use the Standing Stones to move to a different time.
Wear this full sized lace shawl as a light wrap to keep away the chill in the office or as an oversized scarf, perfect with a coat, sweater, dress or shirt, from casual to elegant.
